D.O.T. Physical Exams

New Certification or Renewal

 

It is important to have your D.O.T. physical evaluation performed by an experienced, qualified professional.  The safety of you and others on the road depends on it.  Dr. Markus McCormac, D.C., N.R.C.M.E. is a certified medical examiner who possesses the necessary knowledge and professional credentials to perform physical qualification examinations for commercial motor vehicle drivers in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (49-CFR 391.41 – 391.49).  Dr. McCormac is on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners, #1188420115.

  • To make the process of getting your DOT card as streamlined and hassle-free as possible, to get you back out on the road sooner.

  • To ensure that our drivers and those on the roads with them are safe at all times by maintaining a healthy driver population.

Preparing for your DOT physical:

​

  • Bring any eyeglasses, contact lenses, or hearing aids you may need – you will be able to use them to take the test.

  • Bring the name and contact information for your primary doctor and any specialists you see regularly.

  • Bring a list of all medications you take (both prescription and over-the-counter), along with the dose and frequency.

  • For heart conditions, bring a copy of your latest stress test, if applicable.

  • For sleep apnea, bring a recent compliance report from your sleep machine equipment.

  • Also, remember to drink plenty of water the day of your exam – you will have a urine test at your exam visit. Limit or eliminate caffeine before your exam to avoid blood pressure being elevated.
